Let’s go back in time to the day God instituted Marriage and to that period when the first couple were pure and sinless.

Their duty was simple: keep the garden and ensure that weeds didn’t ruin its beauty.
Once they’d pulled out enough weeds and became tired, the day’s duty was done. They picked their favorite fruits, enough to satisfy their hunger for the day, and then they retreated to the scenic grotto they’d made their home in the vast garden.

Being in the nude 24/7, you can only imagine how many times their bodies desired each other. Time and again, Adam’s “body” stretched out in full pulsating power. Similarly, Eve’s “body” oozed love juices that signaled her burning “thirst.”

They had neither emotional restrictions nor hangups from guilt to hinder their feelings. And having been authoritatively told by God to “be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:28), lovemaking became their happiest activity. They relished it, cherished it, and gave quality time to it.

They discovered very early that the amazing time of fellowship with God in the cool and breezy hours before dusk was their richest experience in life. Next to it was sexual intimacy with each other! It was sweeter than all the fruits in the garden combined.

To them, this sweetest of physical activities wasn’t a chore, a task, or a burden as some ignorant spouses see it in our day. It was the greatest demonstration of their oneness. And with this understanding, sexual intimacy was their happy anthem: “sung” merrily again and again in the course of the day.

Spouses, it’s time to practice the kind of marriage God gave in the beginning! It’s time to walk in the footsteps of the first couple: Adam and Eve.

No longer see sexual intercourse as a chore or a burden. See it as the anthem of your matrimonial kingdom!

Let this anthem become the joyful song you merrily “sing” in sweet harmony again and again in the course of every new day.

Yes, every time you strip and unite as husband and wife, you’re singing the most unique of songs: The Song of Songs! And you’re singing with the most solemn mouths, the most sacred lips, and the most hallowed voices. This is because Sex is far more than a mere bedroom activity. It’s a holy and sublime act during which you and your spouse are fused and blended anew and your bond of love and soul tie reinforced and fortified.
