SOW PRECIOUS SEEDS AND REAP A GLORIOUS MARRIAGE

Scripture:
‘AND NOAH BUILDED AN ALTAR UNTO THE LORD; AND TOOK OF EVERY CLEAN BEAST, AND OF EVERY CLEAN FOWL, AND OFFERED BURNT OFFERINGS ON THE ALTAR. AND THE LORD SMELLED A SWEET SAVOUR; AND THE LORD SAID IN HIS HEART, I WILL NOT AGAIN CURSE THE GROUND ANYMORE FOR MAN’S SAKE; FOR THE IMAGINATION OF MAN’S HEART IS EVIL FROM HIS YOUTH: NEITHER WILL I AGAIN SMITE ANYMORE EVERYTHING LIVING, AS I HAVE DONE. WHILE THE EARTH REMAINETH, SEEDTIME AND HARVEST, AND COLD AND HEAT, AND SUMMER AND WINTER, AND DAY AND NIGHT SHALL NOT CEASE.’
(GENESIS 8:20-22)

WHEN GOD NEEDED A PLACE AS HOME for the first human being He made, He didn’t stand idle wishing. He set to work. Genesis 2:8 tells us that He planted a Garden. He cleared up a very large expanse of land and planted choice flower trees and fruit trees. He made a river to flow into it and split into four within it to keep the entire garden evergreen all year round. If God had to PLANT before seeing a beautiful Garden, it means you also have to sow before you see a beautiful and flourishing marriage relationship between you and your Spouse.

Many stand almost idle in their marriage, complaining and pointing an accusing finger at their Mate for being the reason why their union isn’t working. How will it work when YOU don’t put into EVERYTHING that God has placed in your hands to invest into it? How will it be the kind of union that it should be when your mentality is that your spouse must always bring in his own 50% otherwise there’ll be no peace?

God brings spouses together with varying degrees of strength and differing potentials. What He expects is that each should sow into the union EVERYTHING He has given them.

One of the secrets of St Paul’s massive success in Ministry was that he poured into it everything he had as well as all of himself! Let’s hear him:

“AND HOW I KEPT BACK NOTHING THAT WAS PROFITABLE UNTO YOU, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house”(Acts 20: 20)

Paul wasn’t your everyday run-of-the-mill Pastor. He was that minister who stretched himself and went beyond the call of duty. HE KEPT BACK NOTHING THAT WAS PROFITABLE TO HIS CONVERTS. Teaching them in Church was okay. But Paul went beyond that and entered homes to hold services. Is it any wonder that he had a harvest of strong Churches?

Our anchor scriptures shows how Noah sowed the seed of a fragrant offering to God. It was unasked; he did it voluntarily. That offering stirred up God’s heart making Him promise never to visit the whole earth with a judgemental flood any more. He also decreed that seedtime, harvest, weather, seasons and day and night would never cease.

In 1948 the State of Israel began. What the people met wasn’t a land flowing with milk and honey as their forefathers did. It was a waste land that had suffered so much abuse. But they set to work cultivating the desert land and in just ten years, Israel didn’t only become self-sufficient in food but was already exporting it! That’s the power of sowing. They didn’t wait for the United Nations, the USA or Britain. They set to work and today, Israel is unarguably a world power.

Is your marriage looking hopelessly dry and almost dead? All hope isn’t lost. Here’s what you have to do. SOW INTO IT ALL YOU HAVE GOT! Remember how God sowed His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to harvest the millions of souls that have been saved.

Stop wishing, stop regretting and stop murmuring. Start sowing the seeds of the things you want to see in your Marriage and you’ll before long have a wonderful, beautiful and amazing Marriage that overflows with Love.
