ππ Dearly Beloved, do really you want to have a happy marriage? The secret is simple: Sow into the life of your marriage partner. And do so relentlessly, persistently; irrespective of discouraging circumstances.
ππJesus Christ, our Model of a Sowing Lover, sowed His Seeds, including His very life, amidst oppositions and hatred. But afterwards, He reaped and is still reaping great harvests.
ππYou may be asking: what are the “Seeds” you need to sow? Here’s the answer:
ππAll the attributes and characteristics of Love listed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 are your Seeds.
ππSo you are to sow: long-suffering, kindness, goodwill, humility, good conduct, unselfishness, purity, calmness of emotions, godliness, forbearance, trust, hope and endurance into your relationship with your Mate; without looking to see if your partner is also investing in the relationship or not!
ππWhen Christ sowed His precious Seeds for our redemption, He didn’t look at us us to see if we were contributing “our own share.” In fact, we had nothing to contribute neither the strength to do so, even if we had the means:
“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”(Romans 5:6).
ππIf Christ had waited for us to contribute, He would have missed the divine timing for His sowing the great Seeds, including His Life, by which we are redeemed!
ππIn Marriage, Spouses are called to be Sowers of the Seeds of Love.
ππSow the Seeds of Love into the life of your Spouse even if they’re not minded to sow. The Scripture says: “In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand”(Ecclesiastes 11:6a).
ππAnd don’t let the seemingly unfavourable circumstances discourage you from sowing. Don’t look at the discouraging “weather”(Ecclesiastes 11:4).
ππSow because, as our anchor scripture assures us, after sometime, the harvest will come pouring in! And as usual, Harvests are hundreds of times more than the Seeds sown.
ππThe time of sowing into your union may be full of tears but here’s the glorious assurance of Scripture:
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”(Psalm 126:5-6)

πππΉQUOTES:
“When you reject your mate again and again and clubber them with criticism and disapproval, youβre killing your marriage softly. You really do not have to be loud or even harsh. Your unkind attitude and selfish deeds will nonetheless take their toll, eroding romance, passion and affection from your relationship.”(Anselm Ahman. From Lovebirds’ Devotional of July 1, 2024)
