YOUR WEDDING RING, MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE AND WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHS, etc cannot prevent you from committing Adultery.

Most married people who commit Adultery do so because they still love it. How? Because, ask the same people to eat excrement or to chew stones, they’ll vehemently refuse for one single reason: they don’t like eating excrement because that’s a despicable thing to do. Besides, excrement is filthy, dirty and horrible to eat. As for stones, they won’t because they’re not edible.

Those who commit Adultery forget that it’s a despicable thing to commit Adultery and that the act is as filthy, dirty and horrible as eating stool. Committing adultery is like bathing with stool or excrement. That’s why God’s Word says in Leviticus 18: 20

“Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife TO DEFILE THYSELF WITH HER.”

So, sleeping with someone outside your marriage defiles you; makes you filthy, dirty and stinking.

When God gave the seventh commandment that says: “Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery”, He also made sure He added the tenth commandment to take care of the root cause of Adultery. That root cause is: COVETOUSNESS. God therefore commanded:

“Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbour’s Wife” (Exodus 20: 17a)

And what’s COVETOUSNESS? It’s a strong desire for something that belongs to someone else. It’s

what made David desire to sleep with Bathsheba even though he had been clearly told that she was Uriah’s wife. His palace was full of his own wives: well-fed women of diverse shapes, complexion and sizes. Yet, he had a strong desire for the ONLY WIFE of another man.

It’s covetousness for sex with someone outside their marriage that makes people commit Adultery. Period!

When I was returning from Church one day, I met a woman I know wearing a sad look. After we’d greeted, I asked why she looked unhappy. It was then she told me of an ugly incident that occurred the previous night. A married woman that I also know and who was an active member of a popular Pentecostal Church was caught red-handed in Adultery! She was sleeping with the boy that served as Attendant in her Bookstore! Actually, it wasn’t happening for the first time. It was just that on this particular night, the man in the next room, who had all along been aware of her escapades, felt he could no longer keep silent at her recklessness: as she had the habit of moaning audibly in the heat of the illicit act. And so, he quietly alerted a few of the neighbours and they quickly booted open the door of the room where the woman and the boy were, meeting them in the act; and the neighbour quickly seized her clothes!

They went on to video her with an Android phone camera.

She was fully married and had a Husband, but was still fascinated and drawn to a Boy they’d brought from the village to serve them! That’s COVETOUSNESS!

But God’s Word commands us:

“BE CONTENT WITH SUCH THINGS AS YE HAVE…”(Hebrews 13: 5a)

Be content with the kind of Spouse you have! Is your wife dark skinned while people say that fair skinned women “taste” better? Don’t be fooled by their lies. Be content with your dark skinned woman. As a Wife, if you hear some women saying that, “Long cucumber is sweeter than short ones”, while your husband has a short one, don’t be fooled to believe their lies. I have taught it again and again in Marriage Seminars: SIZE HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH EXCELLENT SEXUAL PERFORMANCE IN THE MARRIAGE BEDROOM; JUST LIKE SCORING GOALS IN A FOOTBALL MATCH DOES NOT DEPEND ON THE SIZE OF THE PLAYERS’ LEGS; AND THE ABILITY TO MAKE GREAT SPEECHES DOESN’T DEPEND ON THE SIZE OF THE MOUTH.

Still on contentment, the Bible says: “GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN”(1 Timothy 6: 6).

Therefore, be content with your husband or wife!

When you are grateful and contented with the kind of Spouse you have, you’ll always be triumphant over the temptation to commit Adultery.

🔥LET THE DEMONS OF ADULTERY USING LIES AND DECEPTION TO LURE YOU INTO THAT FILTHY SIN LOSE THEIR GRIPS ON YOU, IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME!⚡

🔥LET THE GRACE OF GOD COME UPON YOU AND GRANT YOU THE WISDOM TO BE CONTENT WITH YOUR SPOUSE AND TO BOLDLY SAY “NO!” TO ADULTERY, FROM NOW FORWARD, IN JESUS NAME!⚡

🍷🍗 TAKE-HOME LESSONS:

1) ADULTERY OR EXTRAMARITAL IS LIKE BATHING WITH EXCREMENT, YOU’RE DEFILING YOURSELF. (Leviticus 18: 20)

DON’T EVER DO IT AGAIN!

(2) ADULTERY IS COVETOUSNESS AND COVETOUSNESS IS FOOLISHNESS: BECAUSE YOU DON’T KNOW THE QUALITY OF WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE.

BE ALWAYS CONTENT WITH YOUR OWN HUSBAND OR WIFE; AND HIGHLY ESTEEM THEM.
