WHEN EVER I NEED TO GET A NEW AND BEAUTIFUL FABRIC made into a dress, I visit my Tailor for the production.

He begins his work by meticulously taking my measurements and recording them. There after, I sit down and he hands me some glossy “Fashion Magazines” to go through and select the “STYLE” of my choice for the new dress. Even though he has in his records my previous measurements, yet he takes new ones for every new material I bring. Why? Because as human beings, we change every day and the measurements of last year may not be appropriate today!

Similarly, and on a far higher dimension, God took the measurements of you and your Spouse, when preparing you for each other.

Just like my Tailor does not make my dresses to fit himself or to satisfy his own personal tastes, so also God does not give Spouses to please Himself but the persons He’s giving them to.

He measured the emotions, intellect, dreams, sexual capacities, relational needs and skills, destiny and all other relevant factors of you and your Mate before bringing you together.

The Scripture tells us that any one who finds a wife finds a good thing. So it’s not a question of whether or not you had a revelation before getting married. Once you’ve met and successfully married, just know assuredly that you’re with the person that God Himself planned for you to marry. For you to understand this, consider the following Scripture:

“WHAT THEREFORE GOD HATH JOINED TOGETHER, LET NOT MAN PUT ASUNDER.”(Mark 10:9)

This verse declares that Spouses are JOINED in marriage by God.

God knows everything about the couple and if they’re not good for each other, He won’t be involved in the extra important business of joining them; He’d distance Himself from them.

The fact that God joined you in marriage is the greatest proof and witness that you’re good for each other.

But you need to understand the next point very well because knowledge of it will save you a lot of needless heartaches. And here’s the point: THE FACT THAT YOU ARE MEANT FOR EACH AND ARE GOD’S PERFECT WILL FOR ONE ANOTHER, DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOUR MARRIAGE WILL NOT FACE DIFFICULTIES AND TRIBULATIONS.

Many have abandoned a good and promising marriage just because at some point after their wedding, difficulties surfaced in their union. Dearly Beloved, you need to understand that your marriage is on Earth, AND THE EARTH IS A FIERCE BATTLEFIELD. And since your union is on Earth, it will definitely face attacks from the forces of darkness as well as from their human agents who don’t wish your union well.

Apart from the challenges that will come your way as you and your Spouse live together on earth, another place that problems will come from is YOU AND YOUR MATE. Yes. This is because you’re not perfect even though you love each. As a result of your mutual imperfections, you’ll both misbehave and make mistakes unintentionally from time to time; resulting in misunderstandings which you must muster the maturity and spirituality to control and conquer.

No couple is 100% compatible at the onset of marriage. Compatibility is something you develop overtime; and it takes patience, endurance and maturity to do this.

One thing that will help you to cleave firmly and continually to each other is a rocksolid conviction

that you are God’s perfect will for each other.

If God joined you together as husband and wife, then know assuredly that you’re His perfect will for each other.

No longer let doubts and confusion fill your mind about your marriage. Don’t let those endless questions that have been tormenting your heart and mind continue to do so. They’re are from the devil! They’ll come like this: “Don’t you think you should have married Tommy? Just see how he’s prospering.” “Don’t you know that you rushed into this marriage? If you had waited just three months more, it’s Bassey you would have married. Now, he’s an Ambassador in Japan.” You mustn’t let such questions fill your head. They’re from the devil and his intent is to frustrate and confuse you about your marriage; make you lose faith in it and divorce your Spouse. Many have followed the pressure of such “thoughts” and walked out of their marriage only to realize afterwards that all those thoughts weren’t correct. And when they sought to return to their Spouse, there was no way to get in as their Mate had already remarried.

As our anchor scripture loudly warns, “BE SOBER BE VIGILANT…” and watch against the devil who’ll come in cunning ways to devour your union. Give him no chance. RESIST HIM AND HE’LL FLEE IN SHAME!

🍷🍗 TAKE-HOME LESSON: HAVE A STRONG AND ABIDING FAITH IN YOUR MARRIAGE. YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE ARE GOD’S PERFECT WILL FOR ONE ANOTHER, SINCE IT’S GOD THAT JOINED YOU.

HE “MEASURED” BOTH OF YOU AND KNEW THAT YOU’RE GOOD FOR EACH OTHER BEFORE JOINING YOU.
