Enriching Matrimonies

SPOUSES: THE AUDACITY TO LIVE YOUR LOVE LIVES TO THE FULLEST

Scripture:
‘THEN AGAIN, ABRAHAM TOOK A WIFE, AND HER NAME WAS KETURAH.’
(GENESIS 25:1)

WHEN THE SCRIPTURE says that the righteous are bold as a lion(Proverbs 28:1b), it implies so much more than being brave and daring in the face of danger. It also means being bold enough to be different. It means not doing things as others expect when God has given you the liberty of better and more suitable options! It means having the courage to dance to another drumbeat! Yes, it means deadness to censure.

In our anchor scripture for today, we read about Father Abraham’s new marriage at the age of 140 years plus! He was already a supercentenarian but he still loved and believed in Marriage.

When the news of his intentions to marry went out, mouths must have whispered into ears and elbows dug into ribs. There probably were mockers and scoffers who laughed very hard at the whole idea.

Sir/Ma, don’t think that tongues didn’t wag at the move of the righteous “Friend of God” to marry at such an advanced age.

But in the heart of his heart, Father Abraham knew that he needed marriage again. His love life was still fully alive and needed it’s needs met within God’s perfect design. And so he boldly chose to marry again; knowing in his spirit that it was God’s perfect will.

Are you wondering how his marriage must have been? The supercentenarian’s marriage was superlative: complete with lively romance, glorious lovemaking and six amazing children!

Now, doesn’t his results tell you that it’s always best to be independent and to follow what God’s Spirit is telling you to do?

When the Bible says that the path of the righteous is as a shinning light(Proverbs 4:18) don’t think it only refers to the “pathway” he treads in his journey Heavenward. It more importantly refers to his life.
This includes his love life which gets better and brighter!

This is because the righteous is different. He’s like the Date palm tree who’s fruits get sweeter with age and the cedars of Lebanon that are evergreen, full of sap and live for over three thousand years! (Psalm 92:12-15; 104:16)

In your Lovelife as a couple, you must be bold enough like Father Abraham to refuse to bow to the fear of what people will say if you embrace, if you hug, if you kiss, if you bathe together or if you make love in the afternoon.

As covenant Lovers and lovebirds, ensure that your romance is always sizzling and your bedroom life steamy, dreamy and sweaty!

Don’t only admire Father Abraham’s life of robust faith, also admire and emulate his audacity to be himself and to live his love life to the fullest; leaving no stone unturned in his enjoyment of all the blessings of Matrimony!
