OUR ANCHOR SCRIPTURE IS THE CONFESSION of a lady who had caught a revelation of who her marriage partner was in her life: HER BELOVED AND HER FRIEND. Not only a husband. Indeed, there’s nothing wrong with the title HUSBAND. Neither is anything wrong with the name WIFE. But the actual realities of marriage is by far more romantic and much more intimate than those two formal titles connote.
Now, the woman in our anchor scripture lived in the Old Testament era when they hadn’t as much light of scripture as we do now nor the indwelling presence of the blessed Holy Spirit. Yet, that lady understood that her husband was her LOVER AND MAN FRIEND.
Dearly Beloved Spouses, those of us living in the New Testament era should know and understand better!
In giving you a marriage Partner, God has given you A TOTAL LOVER! Isn’t the sheer knowledge of this wonderful?
For husbands this means that you have in your wife all and everything that a beautiful and alluring woman could be to a red-blooded man: she’s your girlfriend, your sugar baby, sugar mummy, side-chick, sweet sixteen, sweet seventeen, sweet 18, 20, 21,25; she’s your Queen, your Empress and so much more.
And for wives, you have in your husband a Total Man. He’s your lover boy, playboy, sweetheart, casanova, sugar daddy, sugarcane; your king, prince charming and so much.
When you understand that your Spouse is all these and so much more to you, you’ll realize that there shouldn’t be a dull moment in your romantic life as a couple and that you don’t ever need a side-chick or side-dude. Why? Because the real, original and covenant side-chick or side-dudes lives under the same roof with you and sleeps on the same bed with you every night. And that’s your God-given Spouse.
It’s not just important but imperative that you daily see yourselves in the identities detailed above. And don’t only see yourself in those identities but act out those roles.
Don’t make excuses and say, “Well, I am already in my 50s. I’m too old for such things.” Now, this is a wrong mentality many harbour and it’s negatively affecting their love lives. Who told you that you’re old?
Sir/Ma, age is just a number as far as your love life and marriage are concerned.
In Marriage, you’re Lovers to each other and Lovers are like Cherubs are ever young! So, drop the “Old Man” or “Old Woman” mentality and function as a total lover to your spouse.
Finally, always remember that Total Lovers are Daily Lovers. They ensure that they practice romantic love everyday and the more they do, the more skilled they become in their mutual love lives and the more addicted and inseparable they become to each other.
