SPOUSES: LIVING THE EXCEEDINGLY AFFECTIONATE AND ROMANTIC LIFE!

Scripture:
‘BY NIGHT ON MY BED I SOUGHT HIM WHOM MY SOUL LOVETH: I SOUGHT HIM, BUT I FOUND HIM NOT. 2 I WILL RISE NOW, AND GO ABOUT THE CITY IN THE STREETS, AND IN THE BROAD WAYS I WILL SEEK HIM WHOM MY SOUL LOVETH: I SOUGHT HIM, BUT I FOUND HIM NOT. 3 THE WATCHMEN THAT GO ABOUT THE CITY FOUND ME: TO WHOM I SAID, SAW YE HIM WHOM MY SOUL LOVETH? 4 IT WAS BUT A LITTLE THAT I PASSED FROM THEM, BUT I FOUND HIM WHOM MY SOUL LOVETH: I HELD HIM, AND WOULD NOT LET HIM GO, UNTIL I HAD BROUGHT HIM INTO MY MOTHER’S HOUSE, AND INTO THE CHAMBER OF HER THAT CONCEIVED ME.’

IN OUR ANCHOR SCRIPTURE PASSAGE for today, we see a lovey dovey couple. To be lovey dovey means to be exceedingly affectionate and romantic and not afraid to show it!

 

The lady in our anchor passage suddenly had a desire for her espoused lover in the night and couldn’t bear his absence. She dressed up and stepped into the dark night in search of her Man. When she finally found him, she didn’t just stand and pretend as most wives do today. No. She hugged him tight and took him to her own house.

 

In Marriage, both spouses are called to have immense and overflowing love and desire for each other. It’s these qualities that prove that you’re not just living together as co-tenants but are practicing Married Lovers who understand the Marriage Covenant.

 

The lovey dovey life is God’s perfect will for all married couples, irrespective of age; and it should intensify as you grow older.

 

The Bible makes it clear that married couples are called to be lovey dovey. That’s exactly why they’re ONE FLESH: making them free to express their affection and passion for each other without any hindrance.

 

The Songs of Solomon was given to us: to teach us that the lovey dovey life isn’t only godly but imperative to living a successful love life in Marriage!

 

The relationship of Christ and the Church also model to us a profoundly deep relationship of supreme Love; as both Christ and the church love each other boundlessly and without the faintest shadow of timidity or shame. So should you and your Spouse also love each other fervently, ardently and evidently.

 

Adam and Eve were a lovey dovey couple before the Fall and that’s why they were both naked and were not ashamed. They hovered around each other every day and couldn’t take their hands off one another.

 

You and your Spouse can and should become the LOVEY DOVEY pair that God intended. Enough of living together as if it’s wrong to be constantly, deeply and endlessly passionate and affectionate with each other.

 

Seize the Season! Get LOVEY DOVEY in this happy period as the year draws gradually to an end.
