🌹We live in a world where beauty is highly glamourized and celebrated. But our anchor scripture, taken from the hallowed pages of the Book of the One Who created Beauty speaks differently. It loudly tells us that Beauty is vain!

🌹In other words, Beauty (and of course handsomeness too) hasn’t much to offer. It’s mere vanity. It’s of no real worth! Sounds surprising but perfectly true.

🌹Let’s ponder on a few questions.

🌹What does Beauty add to a woman’s ability to cook well? Nothing!

🌹What does it add to her performance of her parenting duties? Does it make her a better parent? No!!

🌹Does beauty in anyway enhance a woman’s VALUE as a wife? No!!

🌹Does it in some measure make her sweeter in the bedroom in the hour of love and intimacy? No! Instead, the opposite is the case in many cases. Many beautiful housewives are haughty and proud because of the their Beauty. Some can’t even be touched by their husbands because they feel he’s beneath their dignity. They feel too queenly for such a “peasant, peanut husband” even though he’s a well respected man in the community.

🌹When you look into the pages of scripture, you’ll see beautiful women who give ample evidence to our anchor scripture’s saying that Beauty is vain.

🌹Put bluntly, Beauty is vain means: Beauty is nothing! It’s merely a combination of an attractive face and proportionate bodily parts. It’s not more than that. It’s mere aesthetics.

🌹Beauty is equivalent to the fanciful colour of a car. No mature minded person chooses a car at the auto market because of it’s colour. Colour contributes absolutely nothing to the car’s performance capacities.

🌹Neither does handsomeness make a man a good husband.

🌹But there’s a quality that guarantees marital success any where, any time and any day. It’s the fear of the Lord.

🌹And what is the fear of the Lord? It’s reverence, respect and awe for the person of God Almighty Who is omnipresent and sees all things.

🌹The fear of God makes the one who has it refrain from evil. It makes them conscious of the fact that God is watching and seeing all they do.

🌹The fear of God was in Joseph and that’s why he could refuse Mrs Potiphar’s invitation to commit Adultery and said instead:

🎙️”There is none greater in this house than I, neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”(Genesis 39:9)

🌹The fear of God in him made him see Adultery, not as mere cheating but great wickedness and sin against God!

🌹Joseph in the New Testament also had the fear of God and that’s why he didn’t want to expose Mary to the harsh judgement of the mosaic law over her pregnancy. He instead wanted to spare her life by leaving the relationship silently.

🌹It’s the absence of the fear of the Lord that makes people reconnect with their Ex after marriage. It’s what make some husbands beat their wives. It what makes some starve their Mate sexually for years and their conscience doesn’t trouble them

🌹Dearly Beloved, do you have the fear of God in you? It’s what guarantees the assured continuity of your Marriage.

🌹When you fear God you don’t need human supervision. The fear of God in you will make you do what will attract both divine and human praise.

🌹Being born again isn’t enough. Get the fear of God into your heart today. It will make you refrain from whatever could hurt your Spouse!

🎙️”By the fear of the Lord men depart from evil”(Proverbs 16:6b)
