THE CRUDE WOMAN OF GOD

Scripture:
‘LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS, AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.’
(MATTHEW 5:16A)

🤓💕♥️♀️♂️Growing up as a believer, one of my pastors shared with me the story of his mates in Bible College who fell in love with each other and got married. On their wedding day, it was my pastor who graciously drove them to and from church.

🤓💕♥️♀️♂️THE CRUDE WOMAN OF GOD
After the wedding, you would expect the ministry couple to be on “high fire” and start exploding with exploits. Alas, it was not so.
At their first church station, the woman of God began showing her true colours. Instead of being a mother in Israel and an example to the flock of God, the opposite was the case: she physically fought church members. If she was so rude and crude as to fight in church, you can only imagine the ordeal of her husband at home.
In a ministry that is known to station pastors for as long as two decades in one place, this couple had to be transferred often because of the reproachful and shameful conduct of a woman who went through Bible College, learned the ministerial arts and homiletics, and was authoritatively ordained into ministry, but whose inner soul resembled anything but Christ. She was like a chronic toothache to her husband and the denomination.
As God would have it, it was one day discovered that she had been previously married, had kept it secret, and had come to Bible College only for the hapless young man to fall into her hands. With this revelation, the ministry headquarters exercised the power of annulment and declared the marriage null and void. Why? Because she was someone else’s wife and the man was still alive.

🤓💕♥️♀️♂️BEHAVIOUR, CONDUCT AND CHARACTER
No matter how beautiful and well-endowed you may be as a wife, and no matter how handsome and rich you may be as a husband, your behaviour, conduct, and character will determine, to a very large extent, how far you will go and how long you will last in marriage.

🤓💕♥️♀️♂️THE WOMAN AT THE WELL
Many of us have read the account of the encounter between the Samaritan woman and Jesus at Jacob’s well. We have read how Jesus told her that she had been married five times and was now cohabiting with a sixth man. But most of us have never tried to analyse her married life.

🤓💕♥️♀️♂️STRIKINGLY BEAUTIFUL
Even though the Bible does not give us details about that woman, we can safely conclude that she must have been exceptionally beautiful to have had suitor after suitor coming for her hand in marriage after each failed union. Quite strangely, each of those five marriages ended in failure. What could have been the cause? Was each and every one of those men evil? I think not.
It is most likely that her five consecutive marital failures had something to do with character issues in her life. Perhaps pride, profligacy, unsubmissiveness, contentiousness, or other such traits.

🤓💕♥️♀️♂️INSENSITIVE HUSBANDS
There are also men who are like “the woman at the well.” They have married several women who have all left. The reason? In some cases, it is not even cruelty. It is insensitivity and apathy.
The man lives in a mansion furnished with every gadget and convenience that money can buy. But he is almost always away, and the woman is like a person under solitary confinement; she is literally dying silently.
Why? Because marriage is not about living in a beautiful place. Eden was the most beautiful place ever, but God knew Adam needed a companion. Marriage is basically for companionship.

🤓💕♥️♀️♂️CONCLUSION: EXAMINE YOURSELF!
Dear Reader, check yourself today. We all need to do this from time to time. Sincerely evaluate yourself and critically assess your performance as a spouse.
What are your behaviour, conduct, and character in marriage like?
Are you a bully?
Are you a fighter?
Are you committing adultery from time to time and have successfully concealed it over the years?
Do you throw all caution to the wind at the slightest provocation and exhibit shameful behaviour?
Are you foul-mouthed and quarrelsome, uttering obscenities recklessly to the point of insulting your spouse’s parents—saying that they are poor, wretched, and good for nothing—simply because you are angry?
Do you sometimes become so offended that you start breaking things—televisions, your spouse’s phones, china dishes—because you say that you were provoked?
If, while reading through the questions above, you felt a twinge of guilt, then you need to repent. And even if you felt no guilt but know that you do any of those wrong things, you seriously need to repent.
Go on your knees and ask God for forgiveness, and He will graciously forgive you.
Then ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart, and He will; and you will become a child of God.🤓💕
