🌹Poverty of Love refers to the state of being highly deficient in the attributes of Love.
🌹Poverty of Love is one of worst forms of poverty. It makes the Spouse who’s stricken by it hard hearted and almost always unloving, rude and harsh to their Mate.
🌹It’s not a sickness or an ailment but rather the outcome of the deliberate refusal to be humane, godly and God-fearing.
🌹The Spouse who is poor in love may be a millionaire and may have almost everything that money can buy but there’s no peace in their marriage because they’re like the Laodicean Church that was materially rich but to whom our Lord Jesus Christ said:
“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked”(Revelation 3:17).
🌹This Church was lacking in the real essences of true spiritually but unfortunately thought that they were rich when God saw them as ¹naked, ²blind, ³poor, ⁴miserable and ⁵wretched!! This Church’s tattered state is a picture of some Spouses state in their marriage today.
🌹As we can see in our anchor scripture for today, God our Creator is rich in mercy. No wonder He is able to put up with the wickedness of humanity for so long!
🌹We were created by Him in His image and ought to be like Him. That’s why the Bible says: “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love as Christ also hath loved us”(Ephesians 5:1-2a)
🌹God wants us to be imitators of Him just as little children imitate their fathers. We should be desirous to be rich in all the attributes of Love because God our Father is LOVE.
🌹Be rich in patience, kindness, humility, servanthood, empathy, compassion, mercy, selflessness, endurance, forbearance, gentleness, meekness, etc. When you are rich in these virtues, then you can spend them on your Mate.
🌹When you are poor in kindness, for instance, you’ll find yourself being harsh and unkind, even though you would have preferred to be kind. Truth is: you can’t spend what you don’t have!
🌹Dearly Beloved, work on yourself! You can’t continue to be the sickening mate in that marriage.
🌹Make it your goal that you want to be a sweeter lover and partner to your Spouse. Decide to be super rich in all the attributes of Love.
Get on your knees in prayer and ask God for marital wisdom and it will be given you(James 1:5).
🌹There’s nothing beautiful about being a misfit in marriage. There’s everything beautiful about being a God-fearing and romantic lover that’s amorously superthrilling to their Mate in bed and out of it!
🌹Be that Spouse who is so sensationally captivating that they’re both indispensable and indisposable to their Mate!
