MOST TIMES, HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT APPRECIATE WHAT they have until they have foolishly lost it. In the mid 1970s, Boney M, an American pop music icon at the time, came out with the hit Song “By The Rivers of Babylon”, largely using the words of our anchor scripture for today. The world smiled and danced 💃🕺💃🕺to the music but didn’t know the pains that birthed those scriptural verses nor the regretful sighs and tears behind them. It was on their way to forced exile by a long and tortuous trek that covered thousands of kilometers that the captive Jews realized what they’d lost: a life of total freedom, the glorious city of Jerusalem🕍🕍🕍, the blessed land of promise and so much more! At the Rivers of Babylon, instead of rest and quietude, they were assaulted with taunts and reproachful demands to sing holy Songs🪕🎻🎺. Sir/Ma, the River of married Love that God has blessed you and your Spouse with is unique, special and exceptional throughout the whole world. It’s peculiar and perfectly exclusive to you and your Partner. It’s like no other because no two couples in the world are sexually the same. What you have between you as a couple is rare and inimitable throughout the world. Recognize this blessedness today and be hilariously grateful to God every new day for pairing you and your Mate by divine wisdom. Perhaps, for days, weeks or months now, Satan the devil has been drumming in your ears the praises of the “Rivers of Babylon”. Perhaps, his advertisement jingles, playing on repeat mode, have finally convinced you that you have been conned into marrying a wrong person with whom there’s no “River of Love” to swim in and that you married too hastily. But Sir/Ma, have you taken time to closely look at your Marriage and your Spouse? There’s nothing vital for a happy Marriage that’s missing in your Mate. There’s a River of Love in your Marriage. Let’s take at God’s Marriage Manual, the Bible: “Drink waters out of thine own CISTERN, and running waters out of thine own WELL. Let thy FOUNTAINS be dispersed abroad, and RIVERS OF WATERS in the streets. Let them be only thine own, and not strangers with thee. Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.”(Proverbs 5:15-17) What does it say? It tells us that there’s A CISTERN, A WELL, FOUNTAINS and RIVERS OF WATERS in every marriage! So there’s a RIVER OF LOVE right in that marriage of yours. You don’t need the Rivers of Babylon! Don’t be deceived. But just in case you insist on going out there let me tell you what you’ll meet: bitter disappoinment💘💘💘, sore tears and heartbreak💔💔💔! Let me be down to earth: you’ll find no songs or smiles in Adultery, aka, Extramarital Affairs. Don’t be deceived to believe that those who are engaged in it are enjoying themselves. No, they aren’t. They are suffering cruel mockeries from their captors. Though they carry harps, they are in great mourning and can’t sing. Their harps are hanging on the willows of sorrow. Stay in your marriage.
