I WAS JUST WAKING UP TO LIFE AND only six years old when it happened. A highly promising young man who was apparently on his way to becoming a Billionaire had just died and his family returned from the big city to the village. Then the bad news filtered in: he was killed by a woman; a strange woman. Poisoned!
He was a young man I admired. After the release of my second album, we suddenly met somewhere in the city where he lived. He was still his handsome and ebullient self. He said to me, “Ansy! Wow, it’s great seeing you again after so many years. Hey, let’s get to that restaurant for a drink. I know that as a Born Again christian you don’t drink alcohol.” I obliged him, even though I really hadn’t the time. He was that nice kind of dude you couldn’t easily deny such a simple social request. After sharing malt drinks, we parted ways. Over four year after, the news reached me that he was dead. He later caught HIV/AIDS and perished miserably leaving behind a beautiful wife and tender children.
And one day, after thirty years of not seeing “Thunderstorm”, I ran into his classmate and bosom friend, “The Great Ogbunigwe”. After greetings and exchange of pleasantries, I innocently asked after his bosom friend, the handsome, lanky and inimitable “Thunderstorm”. He became quite and then tears welled up his eyes. “What is it, Ogbunigwe?” I asked, a little bit alarmed. At this point, he was openly weeping. He fished out his handkerchief and wiped his tears. Slightly shaking he said, “Thunderstorm is dead. He died in great agony and deep regrets. He was one of the first victims of HIV/AIDS in his village. After school he went into womanizing which was actually unlike him during our school days.” I was speechless.
If I should go on telling the stories of those who are personally known to me but have been subtly “taken out” before their time through sexual immorality, this devotional piece will be needlessly too long.
The question is, who has done this to humanity? Who or what makes people believe that sexual intimacy outside of marriage is good but only forbidden by God, Who does not want people to “enjoy”? The culprit is no other than Satan, the devil! He’s the one who has masked himself and uses various means to daily advertise adultery and fornication. His advertisement jingles have been playing for centuries and are captured in scripture. Here’s one of his Advertisers and the advertisement:
“13 A FOOLISH WOMAN is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
14 For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
15 To call passengers who go right on their ways:
16 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
17 STOLEN WATERS ARE SWEET, AND BREAD EATEN IN SECRET IS PLEASANT.
18 But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.” (Proverbs 9:12-18)
Some of the staunchest Advertisers of immorality are the “foolish women”. Note that it doesn’t say “idiotic women” or “stupid women”. Foolish women are simply women who do not subscribe to God’s Word and Wisdom on life and living. Many of them are graduates and well educated. Foolish women are everywhere. They dress seminude because they’re beautiful and want everyone to see and admire their bodily endowments. But they don’t know that the devil is the one motivating their lifestyles and dressing; and that he’s using them to fuel and light the fire of LUST and LASCIVIOUSNESS across the earth! Jesus exposed the devil when He said:
“Ye are of your father the devil, and THE LUSTS of your father ye will do. HE WAS A MURDERER FROM THE BEGINNING, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: FOR HE IS A LIAR, AND THE FATHER OF IT.”(John 8:44)
The devil is a murderer and a liar. He’s the one that has deceived millions to believe that sleeping with another man’s wife or husband is “sweeter” and that sex in marriage is not as sweet as the one “outside.” This is nothing but a great delusion. Drunk with this delusion, many have gone with their eyes wide open to the devil’s slaughter houses to be killed many years before their real time of death:
“21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life”(Proverbs 7:21-23)
If you still see anything good, admirable or interesting in sex outside of marriage then, it’s time for you to get deliverance.
The sex in your marriage is exclusive. It’s completely higher and by far superior to the filth the devil is advertising in your ears. Live by God’s Word on Marriage and give yourselves to each other and you’ll experience the truth in the sentence just before this.
