IN OUR ANCHOR ⚓ ⚓ ⚓ SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY, Naomi🧑‍🦳🧑‍🦳 clearly testified that her two daughters in-law🧑‍🦰🧓🧑‍🦰🧓
didn’t just love her sons whom they married, they also loved her. One clear proof of their love was their decision to go back to her country, Israel, with her. And they didn’t just make the choice to follow her to her country, they actually set out with her and they all journeyed together until they arrived at the place where Naomi paused to give them a lecture on the reality of their common situation and how it was better for them to go back. It was because of her clear and reasonable disuasion that one of the two ladies, Orpah, went back. But before doing so, she kissed her Mother-in-law “Goodbye”, expressing her love and affection. Ruth the second lady was resolute on going back to Israel with Naomi and together they arrived Israel🕍🕍🕍🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱 in the time of Barley harvest.

Spouses, please listen👂👂👂 attentively: those who produced the man or woman you have married are not devils, vampires and enemies you must tread carefully with as some have erroneously told you. If they were good enough to birth and raise your marriage partner and you found him/herself good enough to love and marry, it’s not you that’s now their Spouse that they will seek to harm!

When you read the whole of the Book of Ruth, you’ll find that Naomi became the bridge🌁🌉🌁 that God used to connect Ruth to a new husband and a new life! This new husband wasn’t only a very good man, he was a multimillionaire💰💰💰!

Ruth’s love for her Mother-in-law Naomi was so strong and so open that the entire city of Bethlehem noticed it. Hear what Boaz said about her ever before marrying her:

“AND BOAZ ANSWERED AND SAID UNTO HER, IT HATH FULLY BEEN SHEWED ME, ALL THAT THOU HAST DONE UNTO THY MOTHER IN LAW SINCE THE DEATH OF THINE HUSBAND” (Ruth 2: 11A)

Hear what the women of Bethlehem said about Ruth:

“FOR THY DAUGHTER IN LAW, WHICH LOVETH THEE, WHICH IS BETTER TO THEE THAN SEVEN SONS”(Ruth 4:15B)
What a statement! To these women, Ruth was more than ten sons to Naomi?

Because of Ruth’s love for her Mother-in-law Naomi, Naomi chose to reveal to her how to remarry in Israel and that’s how she found love and marriage and went into a wealthy home.

Don’t love your Spouse and despise his parents and siblings. It isn’t just wrong, it’s much more. Such a conduct is sowing seeds that will hurt you somehow, somewhere and sometime in the future, if you continue in that way. Spare some thoughts and attention for the relatives of your Mate. Be a blessing to them. Overlook their faults and mistakes. When they visit your home, be as good and kind a host or hostess as you can possibly be. It’s a small world. You never can tell if you’ll somehow find yourself in a position or place where you’ll need them to be your springboard to the next level. If you don’t need them, your children may. It’s a small world, so don’t be rude, arrogant and unfriendly to your in-laws. Instead, sincerely love them as doing so will boost and strengthen your marriage and your relationship with your Spouse.
