🌹WHEN GOD SPOKE THE WORDS of our anchor scripture through Apostle Paul, they were not meant only for directing young Christians from going into Marriage with Unbelievers.
🌹They were and are still meant to guide Christians in all areas of life. Why? Because who you associate with in life matters a great deal. Who you associate with contributes to the direction in which you move in life.
🌹Dear Spouses, those you associate with will quietly influence your Marriage unto growth and prosperity or they would gradually lead it to decline and ruin; all depending on who they are.
🌹Always remember the scripture that’s presented below in two translations:
“Be not deceived: ‘Evil associations corrupt good manners’.”(1 Corinthians 15:33; KJ)
“Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”( 1 Corinthians 15:33; AMP)
🌹And it does not really have to be a long time association or contact. The command of our anchor scripture is to have nothing to do with associating with those who are not members of the Body of Christ. Why? Because you’ll get corrupted or smeared. Put another way, you’re likely to get brainwashed and indoctrinated!
🌹Do you know that the sufferings of the human race for thousands of years is all because a godly and pious housewife spent time talking with a godless creature just once and for a few minutes?
🌹The Fall of humanity into Sin was because Eve, a holy woman, casually accepted to spend time with an Unbeliever: the Serpent. It was an incongruous fellowship of Light with Darkness and the Darkness had the victory!
🌹There’s no doubt that Eve had seen the Serpent before. Very likely, several times. But one thing was certain, it had never spoken to her.
🌹But on this fateful day, the serpent was speaking with an audible voice. That alone was a red light alert that should have warned Eve that something was amiss.
🌹”How come the Serpent is talking today?”, should have been her unspoken question! Instead, she foolishly gave the talking serpent attention and of course, the Serpent proceeded to give her instructions which she obeyed to her uttermost ruin and regrets!
🌹Our anchor scripture is not only a command not to associate with visible Unbelievers, it’s also a loud call to flee from unseen voices that speak into your mind through your thoughts or through the books, magazines, television or social media stuff that you read or watch.
🌹Dearly Beloved, know this: all marital apathy, romantic coldness, extramarital affairs and divorce stem from heeding some voice, visible or invisible.
🌹Some husbands were nice and contented with their one wife until they began associating with a so-called new friend who seemed so good and valuable until he started indoctrinating the good husband on “the gains and profits of womanizing.” After several “lectures” the good husband began practicals and soon he was in the ironclad bosom of a strange woman who used some diabolical powers to turn his face against his wife and children. And today, the man is a shadow of his former self and no one can explain what befell him. Well, he listened to the voice of the Great Unbeliever: Satan.
🌹Dear Spouse, who is speaking negative things to you about your Husband or Wife? A relative? A friend? A colleague at the work place? A neighbour? Or is it floods of negative thoughts pouring into your your mind day after day and reminding you of the flaws and weaknesses of your dear marriage Partner? That’s the voice of the Devil you’re hearing! It doesn’t matter how nice the person speaking to you is. He or she is like the Serpent that spoke to Eve. They’re being used by the devil to lead you to marital ruin, heartbreak and regrets.
🌹Some housewives were faithful to their husbands and marital vows until a so-called new friend told them in whispers how much she was making by “Crossing The Border”. What’s “Crossing The Border”, she asked the new friend who told her it means sleeping with other men whom she could help her arrange. “It will pay you in millions just within one month and your husband won’t even know.” And she agreed because of greed and covetousness.
🌹It was my privilege to be invited in 1986 to minister in a major christian meeting along with another Sister, who in her unbelieving days, used to arrange married women for men. Infact, married women used to beg her to arrange for them to commit Adultery because of the money they’d make. So these things are real!
🌹Sir/Ma, let me tell you something: Your Husband or Wife is a precious Gift freely given you by God to have, to hold and to enjoy.
🌹Treasure them. Be true and faithful to them. Love them ardently and unconditionally. Not necessarily because they deserve it but because that’s what God wants you to do.
🌹Refuse, reject and resist every seen and unseen voices that speak to you to betray them.
🌹As you faithfully do, yours will be a union that will not only last and last but will get increasingly sweeter, richer and fuller with every new day!
