IN OUR ANCHOR SCRIPTURE📖📖📖 FOR TODAY, HUSBANDS ARE COMMANDED two things: firstly, to love their wives👒👠👒👠👒👠 and secondly, to avoid being bitter against them.
YES, LOVE YOUR WIFE! 👒👠
The love commanded is same as commanded in Ephesians 5: 25-33: full and self-sacrificing love; such as Christ showed to the Church by laying down His life for it’s redemption, sanctification and glorification.
Loving your wife entails being an enthusiastic practitioner of all the various forms of LOVE: Agape, Phileo and Eros; in your relationship with her. This means that you won’t stick to romantic and sexual love and reject the demands of Agape and Phileo.
In your marriage relationship with your wife, therefore, you must be given to loving her on all the three planes of love: be her “Agape Lover” who is ever willing to spend and be spent for her good, growth and happiness; be her “Phileo Lover” who is truly her cherished friend and companion. Thirdly be her “Erotic Lover” who meets her needs for affection, kisses, embraces, hugs, cuddling; and whose sole and foremost desire in the bedroom is to help her enjoy full and overflowing sexual satisfaction in marriage on a constant basis.
SAY “NO !” TO BITTERNESS!!!
The second half of our anchor scripture commands husbands🎩🎩🎩 not to be bitter against their wives. Now, this command is an alert, a hint or a forewarning to husbands that their wives would sometimes do things that would hurt them or that would be highly displeasing to them.
Sir, the truth is that your wife, irrespective of her age and religious rank is only human and therefore imperfect and would miss it sometimes. Infact, some of her mistakes may be devastating and heartbreaking💔💔💔 to you but God is saying, whatever wrong she does forgive her and don’t allow the wrong deed make your heart bitter against her.
Bitterness is not only a wrong and unwise response to those who hurt us but a dangerous disposition of the heart that can be deadly to our personal health.
So, don’t be bitter against your wife👒👠 for any reason. Never allow any hurt feelings you may have because of her misdeed go beyond sunset. Forgive her and go on loving her merrily!!!! This way, the sweetness 🍯🍯🍯 and pleasantness ☕🫖☕🫖☕🫖 of your Marriage will always reman intact.
