🤎🎁🍞The last level of matrimonial growth we looked at in yesterday’s devotional is the “IMPASSIONED MARRIED LOVERS!” These are spouses who have become marriage enthusiasts and devotees. They zealously hunger to reach the apogee or the peak of matrimonial life and experience.
Consequently, they diligently endeavor to maintain intense emotion, deep romantic yearning, and physical chemistry in their marriage.
Today we are looking at an even higher level of matrimonial growth. It is the “Intoxicated and Addicted Married Lovers” status.
Spouses who attain this height in matrimonial love are always drunk with each other and addicted to one another. No tricks or stratagems of Satan and his cohorts can put them asunder because they are so perfectly fused and completely blended that he has no way of separating them.
🤎🎁🍞THE WAY TO THE MOUNTAIN TOP
How can spouses get to this glorious and gleaming level of matrimonial love and fidelity? It is by childlike obedience to Scripture.
Childlike and seemingly foolish adherence to every command of God on marriage propels you forward toward becoming drunk and addicted to your marriage partner.
🤎🎁🍞THE SCRIPTURE
In Proverbs 5:19, God commands every husband to see and esteem his wife as the most beautiful, the most graceful, the most alluring, and the most irresistibly compelling feminine human being under the sun.
By total obedience to this Scripture, the obedient husband becomes oblivious and blind to all other women and girls. He lives, like Adam, in an exclusive world where there is only one woman, who is a Queen: his wife. No other lady competes or contends for his attention and affection because he has voluntarily given them all to her and joyfully loves and adores her.
In that verse, God further tells every husband to freely enjoy the romantic satisfaction his wife’s breasts amply provide. He caps it by commanding the wife to intoxicate her husband with her sexual love. As we have taught in the past, this implies the wife being an active and aggressive lover during sexual intimacy, thereby sweeping her husband completely off his feet romantically and sexually on a consistent basis. Any shy and passive housewife can transform into a whirlwind sex partner to her husband by adhering to this amazing Scripture verse.
🤎🎁🍞TOWARDS A HOLY ADDICTION IN MARRIAGE
To understand this pivotal verse on high love and spousal addiction (Proverbs 5:19), let’s look at it in a number of different translations:
“Let her be as a loving hind and graceful doe, Let her breasts refresh and satisfy you at all times; Always be exhilarated and delight in her love.” (AMP)
“A loving deer, a graceful doe— let her breasts always satisfy you; be lost in her love forever.” (CSB)
“She is a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts intoxicate you all the time; always be drunk on her love.” (CEB)
“A loving doe and a graceful deer. Always let her breasts satisfy you. Always be intoxicated with her love.” (GW)
“She is like a beautiful deer, a lovely fawn. Let her love satisfy you completely. Stay drunk on her love.” (ERV)
“A loving doe, a graceful fawn— let her breasts always satisfy you; be lost in her love forever.” (HCSB)
Can you see from the command of this Scripture how intense God expects marriages to be? It is far beyond merely living together under the same roof and sharing the same bed. Spouses should be on fire with romantic and sexual love round the clock!
Spouses should “drink” each other so much every day that they are “drunk to stupor” on one another. This is God’s perfect will.
And as they consistently do this daily, they become inevitably addicted to each other. This is holy addiction!
🤎🎁🍞LET’S BE VERY CLEAR
That verse is not a parable. It is talking about the woman you married, her physical breasts, and her naked womanhood. And for the wives, this verse is about being passionate about your husband and going all out— “drinking him in” abundantly daily.
No alcoholic gets drunk by taking one teaspoonful of beer once a day. They get drunk by consuming several bottles of beer. Similarly, “consume” much of each other every day.

And here is a helpful secret: your mind has a lot to do here.
A lot of times commitments will keep you apart. But you can be with each other mentally 24/7. That is why it is said that “out of sight is not out of mind.”
Remember the words of Christ in Matthew 5:28. They show that a man can commit adultery mentally and emotionally. It is also proof that you can touch your spouse, kiss them, and embrace them in your mind. This way you are intimate and in close touch with them while they are miles away. And because you are one flesh, it is not a sin.

Give faithful obedience to Proverbs 5:19. Make it your daily goal to: “Always be exhilarated and delight in her love,” “be lost in her love forever,” “Let her breasts intoxicate you all the time; always be drunk on her love,” “Always be intoxicated with her love,” and “Stay drunk on her love.”
Madam, you should also always yearn for and earnestly “drink” the love of your husband and be “drunk to stupor” on him round the clock. This way, the two of you become addicted to each other maritally, and you become blind and oblivious to extramarital affairs and all the poisoned things the devil offers to couples in exchange for their souls.🤎
