๐ช๐๐You have probably met, seen, or lived in the same neighbourhood as a philanderer or philanderess. These are people who are married but believe that “the woman/man outside is better.” They are people who have embraced the satanic creed which says:
“Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant” (Proverbs 9:17).
At the age of 17, I saw elderly married men and women defile themselves by sleeping around without qualms because they believed there was something “better” in sleeping with a woman or man outside their marriage. Some of them eventually paid dearly for it. One had hot, boiling water poured on his face!
๐ช๐๐GOD HAS GIVEN YOU FAR MORE
Sir/Ma, the truth is that when God blessed you with a spouse, He gave you a lover who has everything you will ever need in a person of the opposite sex. Your spouse was divinely constructed, wired, equipped, and packaged to last you until death and to satisfy all your love needs, as well as your wholesome romantic desires. More importantly, your spouse was created with the capacity to grow better, sweeter, and richer romantically with every passing year.
๐ช๐๐ALIGN WITH THE TRUTH
When you align yourself with the truths in the previous paragraph, you will not fool around with immoral women called “side chicks,” nor will you secretly lust after a flashy, kinky-haired “side boy.” Instead, you will be happily content with your spouse and eagerly anticipate the future transformations that will take place in their physique and personality.
Why? Because the Scripture says, “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof” (Ecclesiastes 7:8a).
The truth is that there is a glorious version of your spouse that God will unveil in the years ahead.
๐ช๐๐THE GOD-DESIGNED LOVE LIFE
God designed you and your spouse and endowed you with a love life that has the capacity to become heavenly in sweetness as you grow older together.
For years now, I have personally maintained that if married women were allowed to compete in beauty pageants, they would beat spinsters hands down and cart away the prizes.
Do you know why? It is because a woman’s allure and charm are not tied to her youthfulness, the shape of her body, or whether she has ever been to the labour room. The truth is that the elements of her femininity remain alive, radiant, and sparklingly active within her.
๐ช๐๐HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED?
Have you ever paused and wondered how King David was completely swept off his feet by Bathsheba, a married woman and a mother, who may no longer have possessed the youthful appearance of a spinster? Think about it: Bathsheba was not a spinster.
In Israel, newly married men were exempted from going to war, so she was not a newly married woman either. She had been a wife for years. Yet, she possessed that feminine “knockout power” that captivated King Davidโthe bear killer, the lion killer, and Goliath’s conqueror!
Bathsheba is proof that spouses do not depreciate in their capacity to love and be loved. Rather, they can continue to grow and flourish, except where there are underlying challenges such as health issues, severe adversities, and similar circumstances.
๐ช๐๐THOU SHALT NOT COVET THY NEIGHBOUR’S WIFE
God’s command not to covet your neighbour’s spouse also points to the fact that a woman’s attractiveness does not automatically disappear with age. She remains capable of attracting romantic attention.
That is why God gave the Law: “Thou shalt not commit adultery” (Exodus 20:14) and “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife” (Exodus 20:17a).
If your wife can attract the interest of outsiders, and God had to establish a stringent law to forbid such behaviour, why should you, her husband, conclude that she is already old and that you need to pursue immoral women on the streets? Does such a mindset not reveal a serious delusion?
๐ช๐๐BACK TO BASE
The point we are making is that the spouse God has given you is loaded with far more than you desired before marriage and that he or she can become even better, sweeter, and more delightful with age rather than depreciate, as some people fear.
๐ช๐๐CONCLUSION
Are there irritating characteristics in your spouse? Yes, there may be. However, do not allow them to make you turn your back on your mate, because the virtues and blessings in them are far more numerous and weightier than the little imperfections that annoy you.
Stay committed to them, and you will enjoy the amazing and wonderful future versions of them that God will reveal in the years ahead.๐
