LOVEBIRDS' DEVOTIONAL

Enriching Matrimonies

PUT THEM IN REMEMBRANCE (PT 3)

Scripture:
‘IF THOU PUT THE BRETHREN IN REMEMBRANCE OF THESE THINGS, THOU SHALT BE A GOOD MINISTER OF JESUS CHRIST’
(1 TIMOTHY 4: 6A)

🩵🐬🪘🧡🏖️🐦One of the lessons we have taught here in the past that urgently needs revisiting at this time is: Making Love Is Making War.

🩵🐬🪘🧡🏖️🐦WHEN YOU READ EPHESIANS 6
When you read about spiritual warfare in Ephesians 6 and the hordes of darkness we are contending and wrestling with, it’s most unlikely that your thoughts would veer in the direction of sexual immorality as one of the weapons of offence that the wicked forces in the high places are using. But the truth is that sexual immorality is one of their most frequently and dominantly used arms and munitions. They are part of the fiery darts mentioned in Ephesians 6:16.
A look at the four foremost works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19–21 tells it all.

🩵🐬🪘🧡🏖️🐦FAR MORE THAN PLEASURE
In view of the foregoing, we have taught in the past that if spouses realised that sexual intimacy is far more than having pleasure at midnight, they would invest more time in it, thereby building and fortifying one another against the devil’s moral attacks.

🩵🐬🪘🧡🏖️🐦WARRIORS IN THE WAR ROOM
We have taught that making love on your marriage bed is fighting a war from your bedroom and on your bed. This means that your bedroom is more than a space for rest, conversations, or quietude. Among other things, it’s a “War Room” from which you destroy satanic ploys, plots, and ambushes that are waiting outside in the form of a seductive woman or a rich bloke, even before you set your eyes on them.
🪘It’s the banquet palace where you get your appetite thoroughly fed with the best and purest of matrimonial dainties, so that when the enemy offers you his poisoned honey afterwards, you can boldly turn him down (Proverbs 27:7).
🏖️That teaching, “Making Love Is Making War,” is one you need to read and reread as a couple. To facilitate that, we have placed the link below. Please, I plead with you to find time to click on the link and read it again, even if you have read it before.

🩵🐬🪘🧡🏖️🐦MARRIAGE DOESN’T PRECLUDE YOU FROM CHALLENGES
One of the lessons we have taught in the past is that marriage doesn’t insulate you from the challenges of life. We have taught this lesson more than once.
🐬I remember a young married woman asking me some years ago if her presence in her husband’s life was a blessing, since he had not made progress since their wedding. They were barely two years into their marriage. I had to quickly tell her that her husband’s unemployed state had absolutely nothing to do with her presence. She was in no way the reason for his challenges.
🐦We must be very careful not to misunderstand or misinterpret Scripture. Proverbs 18:22 actually says:
“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.”
🧡But that doesn’t in any way mean that jobs, contracts, and financial windfalls would all come tumbling down into a man’s bosom just because he married a new wife. If it were so, every polygamist would be a millionaire.
🩵As we said earlier, marriage doesn’t keep you and your spouse from experiencing the trials and troubles of life.
🪘One thing, however, is very sure: the God who joined you as husband and wife is right there with you and will grant you victory as you trust and depend on Him.

🩵🐬🪘🧡🏖️🐦CONCLUSION
Marriage is a glorious delight, and you’ll practically experience it as such if you and your spouse make the unanimous choice to be marriage devotees and enthusiasts.
🐬What made Father Abraham marry again at the age of over 140?
It wasn’t tradition, coercion, or even religion. God never urged him to take a new wife. And it’s very doubtful that it was lust, because Father Abraham was a highly spiritual man.
🐦He married because he enjoyed his first marriage and knew the inestimable value and worth of a wife, and so wanted a new one.
🧡He had hundreds of servants but knew that one wife surpassed thousands of domestic workers.
🩵Dearly beloved, value your marriage.
🪘Highly treasure your spouse.
🏖️Esteem every single moment you’re opportune to spend together, and judiciously make the most of them, because none of them ever repeats itself.🐬🐦
