🪓🪓At the beginning of every marriage, it is beautiful, admirable, and glorious. And the good news is that God designed it to retain its radiance and even become more beautiful and more dazzling with time.

🧱But there is something most married couples do not know, and it is this: one of the devil’s desires is to deface the beauty of that admirable union and possibly turn it into a hideous and laughable caricature.

🦋Unknown to many, the Lord Jesus gave us a hint about this long ago in John chapter 10. He revealed that Satan is on a threefold mission: to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Defacing the beauty of marriages falls under the third part of his operations, which is to DESTROY. In destroying, he distorts, squashes, and batters the relationship so that it is not dead, but its beauty is gone.

🪓🪓BE SOBER AND VIGILANT
Every beautiful marriage is a thing of joy to the couple themselves and even more so to many others who behold the harmony, oneness, and romantic affection of the happy couple from afar and gain strength and inspiration from what they are seeing, even though they may not voice their positive feelings and admiration.

🪓🪓WHEN YOUR MARRIAGE IS GOOD
If your union is harmonious and strong today, with the two of you living peacefully and doing things in one accord, know that it is your mutual responsibility to recognise the worth of what you have and to ensure that you do not let the enemy deface, break, or fracture it, because that is exactly what he longs to do.

🪓🪓ONE OF THE ENEMY’S TRAPS
One of the devil’s instruments for putting a scar on marriages is infidelity.

🦛Recently, I read about a couple who had a solid marriage that lasted 30 solid years, only for it to be scarred by the husband’s infidelity, which resulted in the birth of a child by the woman outside the marriage.

🦃I met a young man who tearfully shared with me the secret story of his parents. They had been jolly friends at the beginning of their marriage. Everything was fine until the husband went into extramarital affairs, as some men foolishly believe they are entitled to do, and the marriage suddenly became fractured when he unknowingly contracted HIV/AIDS and passed it to his hapless wife.

🚪Do you still need to be told that such a health condition leaves the marriage completely drained of joy? Will divorcing the man help the woman? They just have to live with their new but shameful status and religiously take their medications daily for the rest of their lives.

🤎Another married man got into infidelity, and as he was cruising around town with his girlfriend, he had a fatal accident that resulted in the complete amputation of his right arm—a disfigurement he will never be able to hide or forget for the rest of his life. He will have to learn from scratch the art of writing with his left hand.

👁️And will the wife forget the fact that it happened because he was cheating on her? Will the girl he was cheating with still want to be in bed with him now that he is one-handed?

🪓🪓TURNING YOUR BACK ON A LOVE BANQUET
With all humility, I say publicly that I have no idea what married men who go into infidelity are looking for. I just do not. Perhaps some of them get handsomely paid by those women; I do not know.

🤎But if it is breasts, derrière, kissable lips, feminine arms, clitoris, or a pink “veejayjay” that they are looking for, every woman has exactly the same thing, including their wife at home.

🪵In fact, your wife’s body is specially blessed by God according to the Scriptures:

“Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.” (Proverbs 5:18)

⛲The fountain of your wife is her sexual organ. It is specially blessed by God for your enjoyment. Similarly, your own fountain—your sexual organs—is also blessed for her satisfaction.

🎪Why should you turn your back on a blessed love banquet divinely prepared for you in the presence of your enemies and deliberately step out to go into the camp of Satan and his host of demons to patronise his daughters, expecting that he will not take you captive?

🪓🪓CONCLUSION
Going into infidelity is walking away from the moral protection that is under the divine canopy called marriage.

🧱When you step out from under the covering of the matrimonial canopy in search of extramarital affairs, you have walked into the arena of God’s divine judgment (Hebrews 13:4b) and satanic retribution and vengeance (Ecclesiastes 10:8).

👁️Are you that married man or woman who has been cheating on your spouse? Please, repent of that sin today, wholeheartedly believe in Jesus Christ, and be saved.
