💝💖💛🧡From yesterday’s devotional, we learned, among other things, that everyone is an excellent and unique creation of God. Knowledge of this and all the other truths in that devotional should increase our body acceptance and powerfully build our confidence.
💝💖💛🧡𝑩𝑬 𝑺𝑶𝑩𝑬𝑹, 𝑩𝑬 𝑽𝑰𝑮𝑰𝑳𝑨𝑵𝑻!
Today, we are looking at some of the causes of absent or low body confidence. You need to note each of them and always be alert and vigilant against them.
💝💖💛🧡𝑪𝑶𝑴𝑷𝑨𝑹𝑰𝑺𝑶𝑵
One of the enemies of body confidence that you must vigilantly guard against is comparison.
🩷Our anchor Scripture for today tells us that those who engage in comparing themselves with others are not wise. It means that, in comparing yourself with others, you are already walking in the path of foolishness.
💝As we said in yesterday’s devotional, God created us, not for ourselves and our mundane fantasies, but for Himself and for His glory (Isaiah 43:7) and pleasure (Revelation 4:11). This means that if, as a woman, you have extra-large breasts that you wish were as small as those of your schoolmates whom you bathed with during your school days, your wish isn’t wise. It is, instead, foolish.
💖Why? Because God didn’t create your extra-large breasts for you in the first place. He created them for Himself, for His purposes and for His pleasure because He loves extra-large breasts! Their extra largeness gives Him pleasure. They also glorify Him (Isaiah 43:7).
💛So, what are you supposed to do? You are to be thankful and glad about your extra-large breasts instead of complaining, blaming God, or hating yourself because of them. They exist for God’s glory and pleasure. His pleasure should give you pleasure if you indeed love Him.
🧡Do we know that there are people who were created by God as dwarves? There are literally millions of them on the earth. They are found largely in the Congo Basin, Cameroon, Gabon, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, India, and Southeast Asia: Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. They are also scattered in some West African countries, including Nigeria. They are God’s deliberate creation because He loves to have people of small stature too.
🩶You may find this funny and laughable, but it is not so to Him. Why? Because bodily size, shape, and appearance are no factors to Him. Instead, it both glorifies and gives Him pleasure to have people of differing colours and statures; and to Him, no particular group of humans is better than another, and none needs to emulate or seek to be like another.
🤎So, stop finding fault with how God created you. Instead, walk in the footsteps of the Psalmist, who praised God because he knew that he was fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
💝💖💛🧡𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑾𝑶𝑹𝑳𝑫 𝑰𝑺 𝑵𝑶 𝑨𝑼𝑻𝑯𝑶𝑹𝑰𝑻𝒀
In Romans 12:2, the Bible tells us plainly NOT to be conformed to the world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
💜The dissatisfaction of several spouses with their bodies stems from their acceptance of the world’s standards for beauty and handsomeness.
💗Dearly beloved, don’t stoop to the world and allow it to dictate the standards you must meet before you can consider yourself beautiful or handsome.
💚You were created by the God Who is not only beautiful and handsome but glorious in holiness. And He created you in His image and likeness. So, you’re not just beautiful or handsome; you’re so much more. You are GLORIOUS!
💝💖💛🧡𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑾𝑹𝑶𝑵𝑮 𝑾𝑶𝑹𝑫𝑺 𝑺𝑷𝑶𝑲𝑬𝑵 𝑻𝑶 𝒀𝑶𝑼
Another enemy you must not bow to regarding your body is the negative words spoken to you during your growing-up years.
🩷Perhaps you were called “smelly,” “dirty,” “loathsome,” “big-nyash,” “overloaded” (because you were fat), “skeleton,” or “mosquito” (because you were slim), etc., by neighbours, schoolmates, and others when you were young, and you grew up almost believing what they all said about you because the name-calling lasted for years.
🤎Dearly beloved, I want to authoritatively tell you today that no one has the right to define you! Never let anyone’s negative words become your identity, picture, or description. Only God defines you, and He has already done that.
🩵He says that you were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14); you are marvellous, more than a conqueror; you are an overcomer; as Jesus is, so are you in this world; you are a king and a priest to God; you’re an ambassador for Christ; you’re a joint-heir with Christ; you’re seated in the heavenly places with Christ; and so much more!
💖See yourselves in the light of these glorious scriptural realities, for that is who you are—not what those unloving people said about you when you were young.

In conclusion, always remember that you are God’s perfect, excellent, and flawless creation, and there are no mistakes in your being. You are excellent in body, soul, and spirit. Therefore, there is nothing to be ashamed of.
💝So, whenever it’s time for lovemaking with your spouse, strip off your clothes with joy and utter abandon, and make love with all your might and with three goals in mind: to give God pleasure and glory (Revelation 4:11; 1 Corinthians 10:31), to satisfy your spouse (1 Corinthians 7:3–5), and to personally enjoy it thoroughly (Proverbs 5:15).💛🧡
