🎞️🪘🤎When we cited, in one of our more recent devotionals (Lovebirds’ Devotional, April 25, 2026), the cases of two spouses who suffered sexual starvation in their marriages—the first person for over ten years and the second for fourteen years—a Christian leader marvelled at it in his response. I then informed him that I saw the people concerned with my own eyes. They are not fictitious.
🎞️🪘🤎SECRECY AND CONCEALED OPPRESSION
Those two instances in our devotional are just the tip of the iceberg.
So much is going on in marriages, particularly in the area of sexual intimacy, which is the very bedrock of marriage. But because of the strict privacy surrounding this area, there is so much secrecy, so much concealed oppression, and so much sin. It takes boldness and courage for an oppressed spouse to speak out and seek redress.
🎞️🪘🤎GOD’S JUDGEMENT IS COMING
But what does the Scripture say? It says:
“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
Dearly beloved, the time is coming when God will carry out His judgement on transgressors in the marriage bedroom. This judgement will come upon those who practice abominable and vile forms of sex, such as anal sex, threesome, wife swapping, etc, in their marriage bedroom.
But before that time comes, it is expedient that, as St. Paul put it in our anchor scripture, we should “persuade men” and women to turn from their wicked practices in the marriage bedroom.
🎞️🪘🤎CHURCH BOY AND CHURCH MOTHER IN BED
Some time ago, a fellow minister told me of a church boy who ran to him with a troubled heart. What was his problem? He had agreed to sleep with a pastor’s wife and had been doing so for a while, but his conscience could no longer bear it, and the woman would not allow the affair to end.
The question is: what could have driven the mother of a congregation into this mess? Could it be that her husband was too busy with ministry work, as is truly the case with some preachers, or was it simply her own unbridled lust?
🎞️🪘🤎AN ENEMY HATH DONE THIS
In view of the murky moral situation in many churches, it is imperative for us to cry out like the man on the watchtower who sights an advancing enemy army. Why? Because these things now happening in the churches are not ordinary. They are orchestrations of the archenemy of the Lord, even Satan.
🎞️🪘🤎YOUR BODY DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU BUT TO THE LORD
Sir/Ma, are you one of those who are in the habit of refusing their marriage partner sex? If you are, then please pay close attention.
First of all, it is important for you to know that you did not invent, buy, or borrow your sexual organs. God gave them to you to use in marriage. He did not give them to you to keep or store away. He gave them to you to use in giving pleasure to your spouse so that they do not fall into sexual sin.
🎞️🪘🤎ARE YOU HOARDING YOUR SEXUALITY?
When, instead of giving your body freely to your husband or wife, you “hoard” it, you are committing a spiritual crime that attracts a curse. You are acting completely contrary to God’s will and purpose.
Hear what the Bible says about those who hoard physical food that is meant to be sold so people do not go hungry:
“He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it” (Proverbs 11:26).
If curses come upon those who hoard physical food and create artificial famine, scarcity, and hunger, how much more the man or woman who withholds sex from their partner, leaving them sexually hungry?
If you withhold sex from your spouse when you are neither sick, fasting, nor extremely exhausted, you are exposing them to sexual sins, sexually transmitted diseases, and all the dangers that go with them. Most definitely, God will not take that lightly at all!
If you know the terror of the Lord, you will not hoard the sexual gifts He has entrusted to your stewardship. God did not “dash” you your sexuality. He entrusted it to you to use in serving the spouse He has given you, irrespective of whether they are well-behaved or not.
🎞️🪘🤎DON’T RATION SEX TO YOUR MATE; GIVE GENEROUSLY
Please take note of this: God did not give you sex to ration to your husband or wife. He did not send you to give sex piecemeal. No! He is a generous God, and He expects you to give yourself generously to your spouse whenever they need you.
Give in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, and God will be happy with you and bless you in return with good health, strength, vitality, renewal of youthfulness, and above all, long life.🤎
