🎞️🧡🤎Three years ago, I saw a handsome, dashing, eloquent and well dressed Bishop on-line. But just yesterday, while browsing the internet, I came across the news that he is now behind bars; sentenced to life imprisonment for rape. Was he single? Nope! Fully married.
🎞️A Pentecostal Bishop brazenly checked into a hotel on a Saturday night with a female, married member of his church and mother of five children. While they were in the heat of adultery, she suddenly died. Seeing the tragedy, the Bishop slipped out of the hotel leaving the naked body of the woman. Fortunately, the hotel staff found the dead body of the woman early enough and the Bishop was quickly arrested by the police who met him in church preaching. The theme of his sermon? Repentance.
🎞️🧡🤎THE PANDEMIC OF SEXUAL SCANDALS
A catholic priest took his girlfriend to a hotel somewhere in Kenya. Unfortunately, he could not return to his priestley duties at the parish as he died in the hotel.
🎞️Somewhere in the old Western Nigeria, a Pastor was arrested for moving a married woman and her two daughters from her husbands home to his house because the woman had a misunderstanding with her husband. Well, he went a step further by bedding the mother and her daughters. This would have sounded like a lie to me but for the fact that a Pastor that I personally know has done a similar thing: he slept with a pretty woman and her daughter. The woman tearfully told me by herself afterwards.
🎞️In Ado Ekiti, Nigeria, a High Court sentenced a pastor to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor, the daughter of a member of his church who was coming to help his wife and to assist his kids with their school work.
🎞️The list is simply endless.
🎞️🧡🤎DEADLY ASSUMPTIONS
Many of the married preachers who are thoughtlessly committing sexual sins assume that there would be no consequences or repercussions. They’re egged on by the fact that women are so pliable, they’ve done so much of this rottenness and gone scot-free, and most of the time when offenders are apprehended, the law isn’t high-handed in dealing the culprits. And so the serial adulterers and adulteresses smile gleefully and go on with their vice.
🎞️🧡🤎THEIR ASSUMPTION IS A LIE: THERE’S PUNISHMENT
Some minutes ago, I asked Google the following question: Are there preachers who are serving jail terms for sexual scandals? Here’s the answer I got within seconds: “Yes. There are numerous preachers globally serving jail terms for sexual offenses, ranging from years to life imprisonment.” It went on to pour out details. Some of the convicted preachers are serving life jail terms, others 175 years, 80 years, 30 years and so on respectively.
🎞️🧡🤎ON THE DAY YOU GOT MARRIED
On the day you got married, God graciously joined you and your spouse and you became one-flesh through the act of sexual intimacy you had that night. But here’s something you did not know: there is a vicious entity somewhere, his name, Satan, who has sworn to see your union breakup and one of his strategies is to use sexual immorality to lure you and dissolve your marriage, and leave you disgraced. And he has successfully achieved that in the life of many.
🎞️🧡🤎DULL OF HEARING AND PRESUMPTUOUS
Right from the Old Testament era, God made it clear that sexual intimacy in marriage is to be given first place position in marriage(Genesis 2: 24).
🎞️In Israel, He made it a law for newly married couples to be exempted from all civil and military duties for one year so as to attend to the romantic and sexual aspects of their new life(Deuteronomy 24:5).
🎞️🧡🤎STAY SAFE, OBSERVE AN UNBROKEN CYCLE OF INTIMACY
In the New Testament, He commands spouses to observe an unbroken cycle of sexual intimacy, the only exception being when they’ve mutually agreed to seek Him(God) with prayer and fasting. And even then, He still tells you to soon resume sexual relations once your fasting is over; so the devil doesn’t drag you down into sin. How much more gracious could God be?
🎞️But despite the glorious liberty in scripture for married couples, many spouses trivialise sexual intimacy in their marriage and behave as if it’s “high spirituality” to have sex with their mate once every six months.
🎞️🧡🤎HIGH SPIRITUALITY??
Well, I got news for you and it’s this. If because of your “high spirituality” of Once-in-six-month sex your spouse is driven into a life of sexual depravity, debauchery and addiction to strange women or men, the Lord will surely hold you responsible. Hear the stern words of Jesus Christ:
“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”(Matthew 18:6).
🎞️If it’s spiritually dangerous to offend children who believe in Christ, how much more incriminating must it be to be the cause of one’s spouse sliding into sexual immorality through denying them sexual intimacy in marriage?
🎞️🧡🤎THE SMALL HELL CALLED PRISON
Sadly, many of the married church leaders and members who are committing Adultery have never sat down to count the costs.
One of the prices to pay for sexual immorality, especially when God has blessed you with marriage, is imprisonment.
🎞️It should interest the reader to know that the hardened criminals in prison treat new inmates according to the offence that brought them into the penitentiary or correctional centre.
🎞️🧡🤎SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR SEXUAL OFFENDERS
Inmates who are incarcerated for sex-related offenses (e.g., child molestation or rape) are ROUTINELY targeted, assaulted, and harassed in prison. They are gangraped and sodomized. They’re forced to do oral sex. Can you even imagine how vile and nauseating that must be?
🎞️🧡🤎CONCLUSION
Are you that General Overseer, General Superintendent, Bishop, Archbishop, Senior Pastor, Pastor, Rev’d, Apostle, Prophet, Presbyter, Vicar, Evangelist who is still secretly sleeping around with the women in your Church? Are you that married Elder, Deacon, Deaconess, Music Director, Usher, Chorister, Church Secretary or Church worker is still committing sexual sins? It’s time to REPENT!!! Repent and turn from your wicked way so you don’t learn your lesson the hard way in prison.🤎
