👠👛🧢💼You need never wait until the sexual urge in your mate becomes a crisis before you attend to them. When you do, you are inviting the devil to destroy your marriage.
🐂And you do not have to wait until your spouse’s libido has become an emergency before frantically wheeling them into the bedroom for sexual resuscitation. Your bedroom is not a hospital theatre. You are set in their life to serve as an everyday sexual services provider and not a sexual surgeon.
👠👛🧢💼GOD DID NOT APPOINT YOU UMPIRE
Most unfortunately, many spouses have a primitive mindset that has made them take it upon themselves to be the controller, regulator, and umpire (CRU) of the sex life of their marriage partner.
🐃Sir/Ma, please note that, in marriage, no spouse is meant to control the sex life of their mate.
🐄Look through your Bible, and you will not see a verse that saddles you with the duty of “taming,” “subduing,” or “controlling” the sexual appetite of your spouse. God has not given anyone that charge.
🐃If you feel that your mate’s desire for sexual intimacy is overly frequent, what you are to do is to gradually and lovingly adapt to them. But it is doubtful if what you see as “overly frequent” is really so in the true sense. The real issue could be that you are sexually slothful, lethargic, or unromantic for some reason and consequently see your mate’s requests as too frequent.
🦬God created sex; none of us did.
🐏And from His holy, supreme, and perfect perspective, sexual intimacy in marriage is the water of married life. And do you know what God says? He says, “Drink”! Not otherwise. Please read:
“Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.” (Proverbs 5:15)
🐎It is never a crime or sickness to drink much water on any given day. Similarly, it is never a sickness or crime for your husband or wife to desire you often, except if they are asking for an abominable, deviant, or perverted form of sex. When that is the case, you have the right to object, and you will enjoy divine backing.
👠👛🧢💼MY RESPECTED COLLEAGUE
A colleague of mine shared openly on Facebook on his wife’s birthday that, ever since he married her, she had never said “No” to his sexual request. Meaning that if he asked her ten times in a day, she consented each of those ten times. That is a wife who knows her Bible!
🫏In Jean Banyolak’s beautiful book titled Better Is Your Love Than Wine, another man also testified of his wife as never saying “No” to his sexual requests.
🦙And I once shared, in one of the past editions of Lovebirds’ Devotional, about a pastor’s wife who referred to herself openly on Facebook as a “one-man prostitute”! What does that imply? It implies that she was always willing and energetic to have sex with her husband as many times as prostitutes take different men in one day. Again, that is a wife who knows her Bible.
🐑Bravo to her and all the other wives mentioned in today’s devotional!
👠👛🧢💼WHAT SAYS THE SCRIPTURE?
God’s Word is very clear on what spouses’ sexual obligations to each other are in marriage. Let us go to the Bible:
“Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.” (1 Corinthians 7:3)
🦣In this verse, God commands husbands to RENDER to their wives sexual services, and wives should also RENDER sexual ministry to their husbands.
🐘The word RENDER means TO GIVE or TO PROVIDE. And within the holy confines of marriage, it means to give as of a debt, obligation, or responsibility you owe your spouse.
🐫And in 1 Corinthians 7:5, cited below, God commands marriage partners not to refuse one another sexual intimacy. The only exception is when both of them have agreed to refrain from the act because one of them or both of them needs to go on a prayer-and-fasting retreat.
“Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.” (1 Corinthians 7:5)
👠👛🧢💼TIME FOR SEXUAL ABUNDANCE
We all know that ABUNDANCE and STARVATION are realities of life. Underlying the prevalent incidents of extramarital affairs is sexual starvation in one form or another.
🦌Our anchor Scripture tells us that the man who is full despises the honeycomb. Just imagine it! He despises what some will go on bended knees thanking the giver for.
🐄Why does the man or woman with a “full soul” despise honey? It is because he or she is already satisfied with REAL FOOD and has no cravings for honey, which is a mere sweetener.
🐃What people get in extramarital affairs are, at best, sweeteners. They do not satisfy, cannot satisfy, and will never satisfy.
🐂Spouses should arise and make Sexual Abundance a goal for their marriage. Create sexual abundance in your marriage by being sexually available for each other.
🐪Sexual Abundance ensures that your spouse is not just satisfied but oversatisfied, such that when they are offered the honey of extramarital affairs where you are not present, they will boldly reject it.
👠👛🧢💼CONCLUSION
When spouses adhere religiously to the commands of Scripture on sexual intimacy in marriage, there will be nil incidents of extramarital affairs.
🐫The last Scripture we cited, 1 Corinthians 7:5, shows that God wants to see an unbroken cycle of sexual love ongoing in all marriages, with the exception of times of mutually agreed spiritual retreats for fasting and prayer unto Him.
🦏Besides this singular exception or exclusion, the beautiful flames of sexual intimacy should glow in your matrimonial bedroom all the time.👛💼
