🫓💎🫘Your being a man or woman is a gift that was freely bequeathed to you by God when you did not know anything about it let alone having the power to even ask for it.
🫘Going a step further, it means that your sexuality isn’t yours but a gift entrusted to you by God to minister to your spouse faithfully, freely and cheerfully as a blessing; because a blessing it is: which is why it is called “Benevolence” (1 Corinthians 7:3).
💎On the other hand, your spouse is to also minister the same blessing to you freely and cheerily.
🫓In view of these stark realities, it becomes very disturbing and worrisome when one hears of spouses who are in the habit of playing “Owner”, “Merchant” and “Comptroller General” in their marriage by using Sex as a means of control, manipulation or personal enrichment in complete contrast to God’s divine purpose for it.
🫓💎🫘WIRED TO HUNGER AND THIRST
In construction of the human nature, God deliberately wired us to have needs some of which are sexual thirst and hunger that are commonly called Libido or sexual desire.
💎As a husband or wife, you are in your marriage as God’s appointed agent that’s assigned to cater to all the sexual hunger and thirst of your mate. And this He requires you to do without expecting to be begged, pleaded with, persuaded or given some material gifts to secure your consent.
🫓💎🫘THE SILENT SEX TRADE
In several marriages, there is a silent trade going on and it is Sex Trade. One spouse is marketing their sexuality to their mate by demanding financial or material payments before coming to bed.
🫘In a certain instance, a wife asked for a million naira before consenting for sex after she had kept her husband in sexual starvation for a very long time! This is nothing other than cruelty and outrageous wickedness.
🫓💎🫘HOME PROSTITUTES
Speaking on this ugly, clandestine but common phenomena, author Darien B. Cooper said in her beautiful book, You Can Be The Wife Of A Happy Husband:
🫓”Never be guilty of using sex as a weapon, whether to punish your husband or to get something from him. When you withhold your body for such reasons, you are making a prostitute of yourself because you are selling your body to your husband in exchange for something you want. If you place a price tag on your sexual virtue, your husband may feel the price is too high and go for a better bargain.”
🫓💎🫘HUSBANDS WHO DON’T KNOW ANY BETTER
If you think that it is only wives who practice the small-mindedness of trading sex for money or material things in marriage, you’re wrong. There are, very unfortunately, husbands who do it too. Such husbands make sex a tool for forcing their wives to submit to their absolute authority by withholding it until she bows to their draconian demands. This is grossly wrong and inhuman.
🫓💎🫘FROM MENTOR TO TORMENTOR
In marriage, the husband as the head should be the leader, model and mentor to his wife. If she’s petty, it is understandable because women sometimes are. But as a man, a husband isn’t expected to be a petty and manipulative scoundrel who stoops so low as to use sexual intimacy, a basic and fundamental right of his wife in marriage, as a weapon for forcing her to do his unjust biddings such as bringing him a large chunk of her earnings, apologise for what she didn’t actually do wrong, etc. The list goes on.
🫓💎🫘HEED GOD’S WORD OR EXPECT HIS JUDGEMENT!
Spouses, God makes it clear in His Word that you are not to refuse your mate sexual intimacy except when you are on a prayer and fasting retreat and it must be with your mate’s consent(1 Corinthians 7:5). Outside of that time, refusing your spouse sexual intimacy or worse still, selling it to them, makes you a fraudster and a transgressor before God. And hear what God’s Word says:
📖”Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished”(Prov. 11:21a).
💎What you need to pick from this verse is: “THE WICKED SHALL NOT BE UNPUNISHED”. So, those weaponizing sex against their marriage partner and using it to make demands, asking for what they should not have or as a means of arm twisting their innocent partner into doing what they don’t want to do had better repent NOW!!!
🫘God is watching and seeing your sexual oppression of your mate. If you don’t repent, He will punish you just as He promised(Proverbs 11:21a).
🫓For many, that punishment has since taken them to the great beyond.
